"Just My Luck" Review

Lindsay Lohan has fallen on hard times. She has been in and out of rehab (and jail) several times, her SNL appearance was a flop and she hasn't done any major film roles in a long time. With her seemingly constant failings at a comeback, it's hard to remember that at one point she was Hollywood's "It Girl". She was the star of several big hits at the time, like Freaky Friday and Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen. However, her attempt to get out of big teen Disney movies faltered. So, why exactly did 2006's Just My Luck slip-up? Let's find out.

"The Hunger Games" Review

We all knew this was coming. I couldn't call myself a film critic if I didn't review this. It grossed $155 MILLION this weekend alone. It is one of, if not THE, most anticipated films of 2012. The hype is legendary. The fans are vocal. The film is finally here. Does it live up to the hype? Let's find out.

NOTE: FROM THIS POINT ON A MAJOR
SPOILER WARNING IS IN EFFECT. I DO TALK
ABOUT THE FILM'S ENDING IN GOOD DETAIL.

It's Always Aliens with Michael Bay

While at first I wasn't going to talk about this, the overwhelmingly negative reaction to the latest bit of Michael Bay news makes it a little more worth talking about. Michael Bay is currently producing a new adaptation of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (Along with sadly another Transformers). And he has recently announced that the turtles will no longer be the creation of a mysterious radioactive goo from a sewer, but now they're just aliens.

Burton Back With "Dark Shadows"

It's no secret I kinda have a love/hate relationship with Tim Burton. Beetlejuice is one of my all-time favorites, Sweeney Todd was fine and his claymation movies are genius. However, his remake of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory was awful and Alice in Wonderland was one of my least favorite movies back in 2010. Now, he's back directing Dark Shadows, a film starring (who do you think?)  Johnny Depp, based off of an old soap opera of the same name.

Ghostbusters and Avengers and Piranhas, Oh My!

Just a few quick little news articles:

- Bill Murray is offically NOT going to be in Ghostbusters 3. This of course begs the question: Why the hell are we making Ghostbusters 3? I usually have a very open mind about sequels and all of that but this is gonna reallllly suck.

- The final trailer for The Avengers was released this week and, among other things, showed us a giant snake-like monster that the Avengers will have to fight. Plus, The Hulk saving Iron Man? Awesome. Still a little to Iron Man focused though.

- The first trailer for the continuously-delayed Piranha 3DD was also released this week and boy do it suck. The first one was bad and this one looks even worse. Piranhas can kill someone one way and that way isn't even very interesting.
